Projects in Edmonton

The Bangladesh PressClub Centre of Alberta (BPCA) is currently preparing two local projects for the Mother Language Initiative, a publication issued by BPCA, and an event program to be held on International Mother Language Day 2015.

The 8 heads strong team is working on Edmonton's Mother Language Magazine, a publication that wants to explore and celebrate the topic of mother language, and that wants to set a new standard by introducing different ethnic groups and communities in and around of Edmonton, Alberta. The aim is to bring people of many nations together and celebrate their culture and heritage, and the mother language. The magazine will be distributed through all participating organizations on and around Februray 21st, 2015.

On International Mother Language Day BPCA and participating organizations are planning an event program for the initiative. The base event will take place at MacEwan University, at which a floral tribute to the language martyrs of Bangladesh will be offered, and depending on participation an informative and cultural program will follow.
